Weekend with V+D

Aunt Vickie and Uncle Dave came to visit us this past weekend. Baltimore was having a heat wave and unfortunately, Connecticut wasn't any better. In order to beat the heat, we had to bring out the sprinkler (for the first time) and then later when our yard was soaked, head to the sprinkler park (also for the first time). I was unsure he would like it, after he avoided the water and headed straight to the dirt. But, he was a changed kid after his first dunk. And when we got the sprinkler park, he tore his way over to the water, running as fast as he could. There were kids older than him who wouldn't even go near the large overhead sprinkler.

One of the videos shows him giving hugs to Cuddle Bear (Cuddle Bear is one lucky bear, but thankfully we've been able to transfer his new skill to people and he'll give hugs when asked!). RJ and Dave ignored the heat and took Kai for a bike ride. Usually he hates his helmet, but this time he kept it on even after he was off the bike. And the final video shows him "playing" tennis on the tv. It took us a long time to figure out what he was doing, but then it hit me: he had watched me playing tennis on our wii earlier in the week. So, he was just hitting a few, as he'd watched Mommy do! Thank goodness he had Dave to coach him through a few moves! And without Dave visiting, we probably would not have watched the French Open!
