Cutting the Curls

We finally decided it was time for Kai to get his hair cut. It kept getting into his eyes when he played and it was even to the point I would use a hairpin to hold it back when he ate. When we went to Cleveland for a week's vacation, we finally found the time for both RJ and I to go with him. This way, Lola could come and videotape it, too.

Cutting the Curls

Kai did remarkably well. Even the stylist was surprised and impressed with how he sat still. The worst part was when she turned on the clippers and he kept turning his head, not because he was scared, but because he wanted to see and use them! By far, the haircut was hardest on me. Seeing those curls cut off made me tear up. And while his hair now doesn't get in his way while he plays, I miss the Shirley Temple curls. At least he's still adorable! :)

One pound gained, 8 ounces lost

We went to the doctor today for a weight check. I was hoping Kai would finally weigh 20 pounds so we could turn his car seat forward. I'm going to have to get over that dream for a while it seems!

He weighed 19 lbs, 8 ozs. Which means he is simply maintaining his weight (or losing a little), and not gaining! *sigh* And although the doc couldn't find any evidence of his two year molars coming in, I have a feeling as a mom that's what's causing him to avoid eating the last few days. As most things in this house, his appetite is like waves. It comes and goes!
